School of Rock (2003)

A failed musician scams a gig as a schoolteacher and teaches a group of 10-year olds to rock out.   This is perfect vehicle for Jack Black, who is majorly nutty and hysterical.  His insane passion for music shines and actually infects the viewer as much as the kids.  Excellent tale of redemption with thorough laughs throughout and great for the family.  His original songs are pee-in-your pants funny.  Cute appearance by young actress Miranda Cosgrove (aka iCarly) The ultimate Jack Black.

I've been reading your reviews and I usually agree with your takes. This is the exception though. Man I cannot stand that guy. He is not funny, he does not discover you anything. His character is just narcissistic and only looks for his own interested. The plot is also retarded, you are telling me the school just allows him to be the substitute teacher without further research? And oh well, those girls who cannot be musicians are relegated to the groupie role. And of course we have the gay child who didn't come out of the closet yet. Well every child is a boring stereotype, 0 depth for any of the characters. I don't even remember much from the movie, as my mind tried to erase as much from it as possible. This movie is fucking garbage. Brain poison. Do not watch.

Anyways I hope you come back and review some new movies, your blog is rad, sad you didn't post anymore. Hope it's all good over there, take care.
